FOLK IN DULWICH
Dulwich is fast becoming London’s most dynamic folk music centre. Within a couple of miles you can experience:
Our monthly club at the Lordship on the first Sunday of the month for the intense and intimate nights with great singers and musicians, introduced by our resident band Shötley Crüe.
Shötley Crüe are Andy Clark, Alison Craig, Mary Currie, Penny Letts, Cathy Slater, Phil Stevens, and John Seargeant. They originally met through the Dulwich Folk Choir and formed a "pocket choir" formed to preform at the Harwich Sea Shanty Festival in 2014, taking their name from te local Suffolk Hamlet of Shotley.
Since then they have played at Festivals, Folk Clubs and other venues around the country singing characterful sea songs and shanties and whatever else takes their fancy really.
The Goose is Out! at the Ivy House
Based at the Ivy House in Nunhead, the Goose is Out! runs concerts with well known names from the folk world- usually on the last Friday of the month- plus what many think are the best singarounds in London on the second Sunday of the month.
